The new strategic partnership with Lufthansa City Center, a franchise network of independent travel agencies, will provide ATPI with an expanded network on the ground in the region benefitting ATPI’s global clients. LCC brings to ATPI a dedicated 2,000-strong team in Germany alone who will work closely with the travel management company to service clients in-market. In addition, the partnership facilitates both ATPI and LCC in using each other’s international network of service locations when client demand requires a presence.
The news builds on ATPI strengthening its German presence in April last year (2021) when it acquired travel agency Hamburg Süd Reiseagentur GmbH – also an LCC franchise – from Danish shipping conglomerate A.P. Moller – Maersk.
Speaking on the new partnership, ATPI’s global head of corporate development Jeroen van Hest commented:
“This agreement with LCC provides ATPI with a stronger pan-European presence and increased profile in the German market following our acquisition of Hamburg Süd Reiseagentur last year. LCC has a network of strongly rooted partners in Germany and beyond, and we believe this expansion of our footprint will benefit our existing clients largely.”
“Corporate travel is an international business and does not end at the German national border. This partnership with ATPI significantly expands our already existing network in one fell swoop with representation in more than 100 countries around the world,” LCC’s managing director for Germany Markus Orth added.
“Our LCC members and joint multinational clients will also benefit from the industry-leading technology solutions which ATPI offers, to create a bespoke tech stack based on their global footprint, business culture and individual needs,” continues Martina Groenegres, LCC International’s managing director.
The ATPI Group has a global footprint and has successful operations in corporate travel, corporate event management, online travel technology and specialist travel management for a number of key industries including the energy and shipping sectors. In 2021, ATPI launched its dedicated corporate sustainability consultancy, ATPI Halo, assisting companies with the measurement, reduction and offsetting of business-critical travel-related emissions.
