In her new role, Amanda Killick will implement the group’s global, people-first strategy and tailor it for the UK region. This includes training & development, employee engagement initiatives, recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and supporting all colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs whilst championing an open, embracing culture of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.
Amanda will also drive the continuous improvement agenda, particularly focusing on engagement and welfare activities, maximising productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability.
With a career spanning over two decades, Amanda brings a wealth of HR experience to the company having previously held senior positions within the travel, public sector and funeral services industry. This includes 13 years at Virgin Atlantic, where she was responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s internal HR strategy.
Despite ongoing labour shortages within the industry, rising costs, and a national cost-of-living crisis, the ATPI Group has seen staffing levels bounce back in line with pre-pandemic levels. The company’s success and economic resilience is a testament to its commitment to bringing in and growing the next generation of business travel managers and consultants through its prominent trainee recruitment and development programme.
Amanda Killick, UK HR Manager states: “ATPI’s people are some of the best in the business and I look forward to building on the solid foundations that the team before me have put in place. I’m honoured to be leading the HR department in such a key growth region, especially at a company that’s so well-respected and established in the travel management space.”
Ian Sinderson, CEO of the ATPI Group, said of the appointment: “Amanda’s appointment comes at a pivotal time in our growth trajectory and we’re over the moon to have her on board. Her extensive industry experience in both HR and the travel industry means we’re able to continue to strengthen our unwavering commitment to our people and our clients alike. Amanda will play a central role in shaping and developing our HR strategy, and we look forward to seeing where this journey takes us.”
The ATPI group is leading the charge in investment in technology in the business travel industry. Over the past year the company has increased technology investment spend by 35% from pre-COVID levels to meet client demands.
Following her appointment, Amanda will be a panellist at the upcoming 12th annual Business Travel Tech Talk in London on the 16th October for a session titled “using technology to solve the business travel talent gap.” This discussion promises to provide valuable insights into addressing the talent challenges in the business travel industry and the role technology can play in solving this.
